1. How do I make use of ieCommunity Blog?

  2. Click "logged in"
  3. Key in your username and password (these are similar with your ieData username and password)
  4. Post a comment box appears
  5. Input your comments

To Write Post
  1. Point your browser to www.ie.net.my/community
  2. Click login link at top right column
  3. Key in your username and password (these are similar with your ieData username and password)
  4. You will be directed to the site admin page
  5. Click write at main menu
  6. Create and type in a title
  7. Input the post content in the main text box provided
  8. Click publish
To Upload Picture
  1. While at site admin page, click choose file
  2. Select a picture file (e.g. in jpg format) to upload
  3. Key in title and description
  4. Once picture is uploaded, click send to editor. This will send the image to your post.
  5. Adjust where necessary
  6. Click publish

2. Where can I pay my bills?
  • Walk-In (Drop the cheque into the Cheque Drop Box located at Management Office and Guard House)
    • Cheque - Payable to "Extiva Communications Sdn Bhd". Please write your account number and bill reference number behind the cheque. For mailing, please address to "Level 3, Annexe Block, Lot 10 Shopping Centre, 50, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur."
    • Cash - For cash payment, visit us at "Level 3, Annexe Block, Lot 10 Shopping Centre, 50, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur."

3. Will I received bills with usage listing?
For only RM3 per month, you will receive printed bills with detailed usage listing. Subscribers of ieData will enjoy added feature with ability to check both ieData and ieVoice usage online.

4. What is an IP phone?
An IP phone enable user to make calls over the Internet instead of over traditional PSTN system.

5. What is an analogue phone?
The normal phone found in most households that enable user to make calls over traditional PSTN system.

6. Can I use my old analogue phone?
Yes, however an analog telephony adapter (ATA) is required. Connect ATA to the analogue phone before connecting to the wall socket.

7. I have plugged in my IP phone but there is no dial tone.
Please check the following:
  • IP phone is connected to the power adapter and power adapter is turned on

  • RJ45 UTP cable is connected to WAN port

8. Can multiple laptop/PC share my ieData Internet connection?
Yes, you need only to connect a network switch or a wireless router (NOT ADSL modem).
  • Set the configuration of the network switch or wireless router to DHCP
  • The first user need to logon, subsequent users need not logon

9. Why is my Internet speed fast at certain times and slow at certain times?
ieData is a shared service provided to all customers at Saffron Condominium. Therefore Internet speed might be affected at certain times due to heavy usage. As a result, Extiva Communications implement a Fair Usage Policy.

10. Why do we need a Fair Usage Policy?
ieData is a shared service. The Internet bandwidth is shared between multiple users at Saffron Condominium. Consumers are offered shared service because it will be too expensive for most users to subscribe to a dedicated broadband service e.g. leased line. In order to ensure good broadband experience for majority of light Internet users that check emails, read news and occasionally view video online, Extiva Communications have to throttled to reduce the bandwidth of heavy Internet users.

11. How much is ieData Power Plan's 50GB fair usage data threshold?
50GB upload & download per month is roughly equivalent to:
  • Sending/receiving 10 million plain text emails (at 5Kb per email) OR
  • Surfing more than 100,000 web pages (at average 500Kb per webpage) OR
  • Downloadind/Uploading/Sending 16,667 songs (at 3MB per song) OR
  • Downloading/Uploading/Sending 12,500 high resolution photos (at 4MB per photo) OR
  • Watching 12,500 YouTube clips (at 2 minutes per video clip) OR
  • Watching 76 full-length movies (at 650MB per movie)
